CO2 neutral production
With her new facility, Flower Direct emphasizes the importance of an environment friendly production. When Flower Direct initiated the design and build of the facility special attention went out to the installation plan of the plant.
One of the most important issues next to a high insulation value of the facility is the CO2 neutral heating of the building. To realize this key point Flower Direct has installed two high-tech biomass powered heaters. In addition to this system a heat recovery system was installed on the installation of the cold store. The heat that is generated during the cooling process is herewith used to power the heating of the building instead of being blown in the atmosphere.
High energy efficiency
With the bio mass powered heating system, the entire building is heated in a highly energy efficient way with wood pellets (compressed sticks of lumber waste) instead of gas. In a fully automated process huge energy return is realized from a single pellet. In this manner there is also very little fuel necessary to reach the desired temperature. A good thing for the environment and the cost of heating.
For Flower Direct, working environmentally friendly has become the most natural thing in the world!
